Encouraging new pilots to join us, by balancing the participation groups

We open this article to explain in more detail how we encourage new drivers to register in this championship, by redefining the participation groups of the Street (Semi-Pro) category, what are the benefits and differences of the annual license vs the "one time event" license.
(*) If until now the groups were separated according to cylinder capacity, traction and fuels, where a car from the same participation group could obtain a time 3-4 seconds better than another car from the same group (due to the investments , performance, traction, etc.), now we have decided that this championship must become more accessible to new potential drivers and those who own less performing cars.
We also come with a new group dedicated to Electric and Hybrid cars. Thus, if you have a Tesla Model S and want to compete against your neighbor with a Porsche Taycan, from now on you have the opportunity to do so in a legal framework.
The participation groups are now balanced according to the time obtained on 402m. For example: A VW Golf 5 GTI DSG with front wheel drive (FWD) and with a power of 450 hp, can achieve a time of 12.4 seconds. It will compete with an Audi RS3 8V of 400hp but 4x4 and without any modification, but which will achieve the same performance on 402m.
1) ENTRY Group: This includes all street cars, regardless of traction, fuel or displacement, whose time on 402m is GREATER than 12.5s.
2) BEGINNER Group: This includes all street cars, regardless of traction, fuel or displacement, whose time on 402m is LESS than 12.5s but GREATER than 11.5s
3) ADVANCED Group: This includes all street cars, regardless of traction, fuel or displacement, whose time on 402m is LESS than 11.5s but GREATER than 10.5s
** The cars that cover the 402m in a time LESS than 10.5s, are divided into Traction and Fuel categories (the organization of the higher groups, you can find it attached in the gallery of this article)
(*) LICENSING. There are 2 types of licenses available for the 2024 season:
a) The annual driver's license, through which you become a member of RoDrag Racing:
You can become a licensed pilot in the 2024 DragRacing Championship by following the following steps:
- Account registration on the rodrag.ro website
- Activation of the pilot's license for the whole year 2024 (700 lei)
- Registration for stages also via the rodrag.ro website (500 lei/stage)

b) "one time event" licensing:
This license is valid for one stage and is obtained as follows:
- Complete the registration form dedicated to the current stage and the cost is 650 lei/Stage
- Necessary documents: Certificate from the sports doctor with the mention "Fit for driving", Copy of Bulletin/CI, Copy of Driving Permit, Photo of Bulletin type.
The participant registered for the "one time event" will only be included in a TEST group, where he will NOT benefit from the following:
- Finals are NOT organized for the TEST group.
- The times obtained are NOT recognized as official performances in the National Championship
- A pilot + car profile is NOT created on the RoDrag website
- Points are NOT obtained and they are NOT included in the ranking of the National DragRacing Championship
- It is NOT promoted in Live and media.
REGISTRATION FOR THE STAGES CAN BE DONE STARTING FROM 30.03.2024
